Ages 4-6

Mon Jun 14 - Fri Jun 18

9:00 - 10:00 AM

Kids will enjoy the spotlight as we create an art project to be used for our production, work together playing games and getting to know each other and eventually piecing together a sparkling fairytale magic showcase. Everyone will introduce themselves in addition to performing as a group in songs and poems with coordinated movement and simple dancing. All songs and poems will be provided in a print out for parents the first day of camp and available on the Masquers website so that your little actor can have the opportunity to practice as much as they like at home to help build their confidence for the big showcase on the last day of class! The showcase will be Friday and each student will have six tickets available for the performance.

This camp will focus on auditioning and putting together this incredible shortened Sondheim classic featuring many of your favorite fairy-tale characters including Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of beanstalk fame), Cinderella, Rapunzel, Prince Charming (and his brother) and many more! We will have time for improvisation, character development, theatre games and creating sets and props for our production in addition to learning the music, choreography and staging. The performance is on our final Thursday and each student will have six tickets to share with friends and family. Students will need to spend time out of class working with the script, music and choreography to ensure memorization. There will be a socially distanced outdoor snack time daily. Students should bring their own snack and water bottle.
